The Music of Living

  • SVSU's Malcom Field Theater (map)

Soprano Erin Whitfield featured as a soloist as part of the Saginaw Choral Society’s season kick off concert, performing Collin’s “i carry your heart” from Three Love Songs for Soprano.

The Music of Living concert will kick off the season on September 29 in the Malcolm Field Theatre at Saginaw Valley State University. Setting the tone for the evening, SCS is offering a pre-concert Gala Reception on the mezzanine of Curtiss Hall. Guests will enjoy food and drink hospitality before heading into the theatre. The Gala will begin at 6:00pm followed by the concert at 7:30pm.

The program features selections sung by the chorus, SCS men’s group Ah Tempo!, a piano solo from accompanist Catherine McMichael, and several other featured performers.

Jeremiah Kraniak, Music Director, says, “This opening concert will be a celebration of the breadth of talent we have in SCS. We are comfortable singing music from many genres and we have many fine soloists as well as a fantastic pianist. I wanted to showcase them to our patrons; I want the audience to come away feeling proud of what we have in this community. Making connections to our audience and community is a thread that you will see us carry through all season long.”
